Field Sales Representative - Boston, MA

Job Responsibilities:

 

Grow profitable sales within strategic and opportunistic growth segments 
- Create customer profiles to determine how customers want to buy

  • - Budget sales calls based on customer growth potential
    - Deployment of sales time consistent with sales management’s expectations
  • - Prospecting on assigned target customers
    - Gather customer, market and competitive information as required by management

 

  1. Maintenance of key Customers ensuring a continued base of profitable traditional industrial business
  • - Proactive collaboration with internal customers in a professional and respectful manner
  • - Leverage full range of support personnel (CSR, specialists, suppliers, VMI drivers, etc)
  • - Maintain customer files
  • - Insure that IDG meets or exceeds customer requirements
  • - Utilize Product Specialists and Supplier representatives
  • - Utilize customer survey and satisfaction tools


Identify, qualify and win solution customer opportunities within assigned territory

  • - Work closely and proactively with Sales Manager and/or VP SCS to identify solution customers
  • - Joint solution calls as needed
  • - 2 days a week dedicated to teeing up of FPS solution opportunities
  • - Tee up assigned accounts to SM qualifying as FPS solutions opportunities – tee up form to be used and submitted to SM for approval


Support the stocking strategy

- Work with Product Directors and Product Specialists
- Use marketing, supplier and sales resources to actively move customers to strategic products

  • - Utilize product knowledge to drive incremental growth within the Premier Supplier Category and assigned customers.

Education/Certification

  • - Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience required

  • - Minimum three to five years of industry experience preferred
